JUDGMENT CALL:

I absolutely esteem “30 ROCK”. The third season showed no signs of slowdown and every episode, you honest want to laugh because the characters are hilarious but most of all, the writing is unbiased top notch. And all 22 episodes in the third season does not disappoint at all.

With the second season DVD release from last year, the prove was really facing major challenges as the Writers Guild Strike really slit down on the episodes and no one knew if NBC was going to slay the exhibit but they gave it some time and next thing you know, the present won many awards. The fact that the note has been nominated for 22 awards in 2009 alone is a testament of how people respect the show’s writing and its talent. As mentioned earlier in my review, “30 ROCK” is one of those rare and unusual shows on television and everything manages to work perfectly.

I’ve watched Season 3 on television and I couldn’t wait to recognize the episodes again, that’s how powerful I really savor this series. It’s witty, fun and comedy that is highly enthralling! In fact, as for celebrated episodes, there is unbiased so many. From finding out who Liz Lemon was talking to on the plane journey in the episode “Enjoy in the Stars”, to notice the reuniting of the “Night Court” characters and also leer Jennifer Aniston’s “Claire” getting into mischief in “The One with the Cast of Night Court”, Kenneth going on a date with a blind staffer with Tracy’s benefit in “St. Valentine’s Day”, Jack seeing a duplicate of himself on the Spanish soap opera in “Generalissimo” or Liz and Jack visiting Liz’s high school reunion in the episode titled “Reunion”. There are honest too many incredible episodes from this third season, that I can’t stare any fan being disappointed.

As for the DVD release of “30 ROCK - Season 3, this DVD is literally a solid release. Not only do you fetch all 22 episodes, 7 audio commentary (and the proper news is that they give a variety of talent, even guest stars a chance to seize portion in the audio commentary) but you also procure a honorable number of other special features that really round out this unbelievable DVD release. Overall, the present is fabulous and the only thing I can hope for is that Universal considers releasing “30 Rock” on Blu-ray via High Definition.

But there is nothing negative I can say about this release. It’s a solid release and fans of the series will definitely derive their money’s worth! “30 ROCK - Season 3 is highly recommended.

Tina Fey is a genius. Tracey Morgan is the funniest man in demonstrate business. Alec Baldwin’s funny timing cannot be beat. Jack McBrayer is so uncommon, he’s addicting. Any fan of this point to is going to want to derive all three seasons of DVDs. Hoping this display runs for years!

When purchasing a DVD on any of the “Twilight Zone” episodes, I consider it is trustworthy to say that in the majority of cases the buyer knows those stories by heart. The main distress is one of quality. How does the narrate measure up? In this case I have never seen better transfers. The images are wonderful. They are challenging, obvious and own consistent difference. The laserdisc versions had a pickle with murky & white inequity. That scrape has now been corrected.

Volume 3 contains A GAME OF POOL, KICK THE CAN, STEEL and WALKING DISTANCE. This volume is one of the best containing all solid episodes. WALKING DISTANCE is probably the best episode ever produced. Gig Young acts out Serling’s prose so perfectly that he speaks for every man that ever wished he could go home again. Very spellbinding. Bernard Herrmann’s come by intuitively picks up the emotion and heartfelt sincerity that Serling wrote into this fable. This was Rod Serling’s, Bernard Herrmann’s and Gig Young’s finest work for any medium. I reflect it is the finest section of work ever establish on film. KICK THE CAN is thematically similar and also very enchanting. Again one of the best. A GAME OF POOL and STEEL pits man against the legends he makes and the machines he builds. STEEL is an episode that doesn’t instantly hit you. It has to grow on you and that may capture years.

Rod Serling was a man of huge literary and social intellect, somewhat ignored because of the genre he worked within and was noted for. “The Twilight Zone” frequently bordered on the edges of science fiction if not immersed in it. A typical Jerry Lewis movie. As with most of his, if you don’t like Lewis you won’t like the movie, but also as with most of his films, it’s packed with comic comedy that’s mostly timeless and often imitated.

The cast includes Brian Donlevy (Cowboy, The Quatermass Experiment, Beau Geste, etc.), Howard McNear (Floyd the barber on The Andy Griffith Exhibit), and Joe Besser (The Three Stooges, The Abbott & Costello Explain) .

The plot’s not; fair a flimsy frame for Jerry’s shenanigans, of which there’s enough to enjoy 90 minutes with laughs, plus a couple cute scenes with puppets. Jerry’s hired ostensibly as an errand boy for a movie studio, but actually to inspect for the upper management. He get’s into plenty of slapstick wretchedness on the job but never accomplishes any spying.

But the comedy is not all slapstick by any means; distinguished of it is poking fun at movie directors and supervisors, and other screwball comedy. One of my current bits is when three kids are ordering candy where Jerry’s filling in at the studio cafeteria, and they send him up the same high ladder 3 times for different orders from the same giant glass jar of jelly beans. There’s also a gigantic basketball scene with the Dover Basketeers. But wait, there’s more, including a cameo appearance by the Cartwrights of Bonanza, Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, Pernell Roberts, and Dan Blocker.

My popular Jerry Lewis movies are “The Beautiful Delinquent,” “Contrivance… Draw Out,” (which doesn’t seem to be available anywhere) and of course “The Nutty Professor” (nothing against Eddy Murphy, but he’s no Jerry Lewis) . I deem The Errand Boy is almost as noble as these.

Flawed but generally successful combination of pathos and 1930s slapstick: the most skittish guy on the planet is establish in charge of internal security for a (wanna-be) major motion record company. Jerry provides some of the funniest moments ever captured on film, as he stumbles from one department to the next, first an as an “extra”, then as a mailroom delivery person. His attempts to rep a unexcited station for lunch are worth the brand of admission. But perhaps the best scene is the quietest: he finds himself in the prop department with a tiny clown who “comes to life” - it’s a beautifully acted and effectively lit scene. However, there are are numerous clarify sequences which display fruitless, and the movie is overlong by about 15 minutes. And the character’s ultimate “discovery” by the creative powers-that-be is bizarre in light of the fact that his presence has been unintentionally recorded on celluloid from day one. Despite the lost opportunities, TEB remains on a level with “The Nutty Professor” - a very tantalizing and thoughtful anxiety.

I was already laughing like crazy through all the other DVDs, but this one really hit the amusing bone hard.

The first episode was about the male students finally taking some action after one of their friends was accused of stealing the vice principal’s salary. They go on strike and deface the bust of the principal’s grandmother, who started the school. Hibiki is upset that the necessary and her apt hand are prejudice against males, so he decides to decide the matter with the aid of Ba-chan. The two perverts of the boarding house near to distract the police. Hibiki calms down the scrape by sacrificing something notable (unpleasant dog!)!

In the next episode, the class goes on a camping bolt. The guys settle they are going to convey some girls that they fancy them (one who happens to be Hibiki-chan!) . Tensions flare hilariously. Finally, the last, cliff hanger episode is where Fujio starts really crushing on Fukae. But wait! It seems like Fukae likes Fuko. Finally, Fujio gets the nerve to issue him her feelings, but Fukae tells her he likes someone else. Fuko walks by, and he tells her his feelings. But wait again! Fuko likes Hibiki. Gosh, if it could acquire any crazier, Hibiki walks by, but he runs off. All this heartbreak!

Anyways, these are sort synopsises of these wonderfully drawn episodes. I totally recommend this HILARIOUS series. It’s kinda preachy with its messages, but it is also really comical. The characters are mostly realistic and likeable. The animation is blooming. The dub is surprisely as sterling (maybe better) as the sub. I can’t wait to peer what happens to Hibiki!

The first episode starts off with all the teachers getting their salarys - but the vice-principal’s is stolen. Without any evidence one of the boys is ‘implicated’ and this causes a revolt by the male students. How will Hibiki solve the dilemma before it gets out of hand?

The second episode has the class going on a camping accelerate. The boys determine to hiss the girls they cherish them, mostly seeming to steal the girls at random. One of them even decides to hit on Hibiki. While filled with humor, this is where the relationships between the students becomes clearer.

The last episode continues where the last one left off. But soon the students gain out that they are all in worship with somebody else. While this ’somebody loves somebody who loves somebody else who loves somebody else’ area is well-liked within anime, sometimes being the sole space of many anime and manga, this is unbiased an added complication to an already confused mess. Not only does Hibiki have to deal with pretending to be a woman, and all the issues that brings up, like being a erroneous, but now Fuko has fallen in adore with him and he is having feelings for her too (even if he isn’t unbiased enough to maintain it) .

I do like the fact that Fuko’s esteem is not unprejudiced dismissed as a crush and that Hibiki thinks so highly of his teacher-student relations with her. Not that he dismisses the age suppose, but he is a teacher above all else and this really helps bring it out.

The one heed about Spike Lee films is that you’re never clear what you’re going to procure. Lee manages to pull off a handful of effective scenes, but he doesn’t have the flair to bring the whole movie off with steady conviction. An enigmatic master criminal (Owen) - who spends most of the movie wearing a camouflage - plans and executes a “genius concept” in which he and several masked companions acquire over a Lower Manhattan bank and brutally capture several dozen of its customers as hostages.

The NYPD negotiator given the task of dealing with these crooks is an affable junior detective, Detective Keith Frazier (Washington) - under a cloud of suspicion from a previous case - he soon surmises that the perpetrators don’t actually want the bank’s money. Enter smarmy and blooming Novel York political insider Madeline White (Foster) who knows everybody and even has the ear of the Mayor.

Madeline is hired by the chairman of the bank’s board of directors (Plummer) to oversee the crisis and invent obvious that positive secrets he has in his safe-deposit box quit secret. The bulk of the film involves the standoff between the bank robbers and the NYPD as they try frantically to ensure that the hostages remain satisfactory.

Of course we know the hostages survive because Lee inserts interview footage of them after the heist is over, this map, however, tips off the outcome, dissipates suspense and fast becomes monotonous. This is objective one of the many techniques Lee uses to clutter the movie’s structure and prevent the area from unfolding as hastily as it should.

Obviously, everyone has something to cover, particularly the bank president, but when his past is revealed, it finally appears with a bit of a thud, with the movie going through to mighty anguish to near at very microscopic. Everything about INSIDE MAN makes the viewer want to fancy this film: Spike Lee as director, a pleasing cast, a estimable musical net that sounds a bit like Bollywood music, a theme that invites social comment.

For this viewer the terrific ingredients do not add up to a fresh suspense thriller of a film. The sage is a variation of hundreds of other films (writer Russell Gewirtz somehow got away with fair an outline of a script of holes) and the technique of telling the narrative - interspersing post incident interviews with the people alive to in the caper - makes it thud along.

Clocking in at over two hours the film seems to amble over some inconsequential details in an attempt to screen the holes in the script. Spike Lee makes it work because of his style. But in the extinguish the narrative isn’t appealing enough to maintain our attention (’been there, done that’) and this viewer, for one, fell asleep during portions when the film slowed for unknown reasons. I got a chance to preview this movie before it’s release on June 15th and fair to let everyone know it will please the Tarzan fans! it really lived up to the first one and it was really cute! The animation not as obedient as the first one but you can declare Disney place in a lot of plan to this movie and took their time, not rushing it for money like they always do with their sequels. The two unique songs by Phil Collins really rock, It leaves you wanting more fromt the man who did the first Tarzan music and Brother Fill! Phil is broad and so is this movie! I cannot wait to contain this movie on DVD! :) FIVE STARS!

As a babysitter, I have to say, this movie does the trick. I was watching two of the most energetic, brilliant, bratty (yet somehow aloof adorable) miniature kids in the world. They were beginning to drive me crazy, and I had to cook them food. Their mom had left Tarzan Two for them, and I save it in and BAMMMMM silence in the house. Except for laughing. Over dinner, I asked them what they plan of the movie, and they said, in a nutshell, they liked it because it was laughable, and they belief Tarzan, Terk, and Tantor were reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally droll. hahaha. After dinner they wanted to peek it again. This time I sat down with them, and on top of being cute, it’s a really superior film for children. It stars characters that are young, so the target audience can describe, and they’re doing fearless and intrepid things, encouraging kids to derive up and go! Another thing I liked, is they also are very respectful to adults!!! Too many movies today glorify kids who are vulgar to their teachers or parents, and characterize adults as idiots and villains.

The casting was very well done, too! Glenn Halt stayed on board, YAY cus I assume she has the perfect mama philosophize! And props to minute Terk (Brenda Grate) for immitating Rosie O’Donnell so well. Not an easy thing to do! and Tantor is adorable.

It’s also nice and short, so littler kids can net through it without a pee crash, or fussing.

IN CONCLUSION! I enjoyed this film, so did the puny darlings I was watching, and it’s a sterling movie.

This is one of the most wonderful films I have seen: probing, complex, lyrical, and at times emotionally overwhelming. NOTE: Do not blame WaterBearer for the poor-quality DVD; the Pasolini Foundation, which controls the film, provided the print and also vetoed chapters to assist viewers to search for it only in its entirety. The overly edge-enhanced image is improved by turning your TV’s sharpness setting to its ‘blurriest.’

Can you imagine a less likely candidate to do what, after 40 years, may level-headed be the greatest and most inviting film about Jesus Christ? Pasolini was not only a jubilant Marxist but a devout atheist. His fascination with Jesus may have connected with his most personal theme, that of the outsider (with his artistic, political and sexual nature, he saw himself as the consummate outsider) . Although one of Italy’s leading intellectuals, he also moved among the laborers, indigents, and hustlers (some of whom were his lovers, not to mention the inspiration for his early poetry and novels), whose counterparts two millennia earlier had walked with Jesus.

Jesus’s tale also let Pasolini peep the complexities of real-world politics even while recreating an weak culture with unbelievable immediacy. He also relished the opportunity to play with a substantial, and eclectic, artistic tradition, from Jean-Luc Godard’s striking documentary style in “the two trials of Christ…. to painting… Piero della Francesca (in the Pharisees’ clothes), Byzantine art, Christ’s face like a Rouault, etc.”

We also spy El Greco not only in some compositions but in the engrossing casting of Enrique Irazoqui, a Catalan economics student, as Jesus. Pasolini had also considered such young, subversive literary lions as Jack Kerouac and Yevgeny Yevtushenko. With Pasolini’s encyclopedic knowledge of all the arts, you could go on indefinitely trying to unravel the cultural allusions which create up unprejudiced one strand of the film’s rich texture.

The result, as they say, is history. It is like no biblical report seen before; a quantum leap beyond the artificiality of, say, King of Kings, both De Milles’s tranquil version and Nicholas Ray’s 1961 remake, and later pictures like Scorsese’s Last Temptation of Christ are inconceivable without Pasolini’s model.

Pasolini had the uncanny gift for using the simplest, most economical means to bring his vision to life. Some of the locations are breathtaking, from an mammoth city which seems to grow out of a mountainside to the surreal wasteland where Satan tempts Jesus (filmed on Mount Etna) . By imaginatively selecting these locales - and not having to compose sets - Pasolini powerfully recreated the feel of the dilapidated Middle East at a cramped section of the cost of a Hollywood production.

He also took tall effort to cast exactly the honest faces. Radically, he chose actual farmers and workers to do their historical counterparts (instead of John Wayne playing a Roman centurion as in The Greatest Record Ever Told) . Perhaps the film’s most provocative aspect is that all the characters seem drained of an inner emotional life (which elsewhere Pasolini explores rigorously) . This is sacred material presented in the style of tale. This visual and performance reach matches Matthew’s prose to perfection. But there could also be more lively reasons for it.

Take the Sermon on the Mount montage, consisting entirely of close-ups of Jesus preaching with grand force - the background reflecting each changing verse. (The footage came from the abandoned sacred-style approach; Pasolini ingeniously integrated it by using piquant editorial rhythms.) Here as throughout the film, Pasolini’s Jesus is both earthly and otherworldly, harsh and tender. And although his inner life remains completely opaque, he emerges - perhaps in portion because he has been ‘de-psychologized’ - as a figure of power but also complexity and ambiguity. Pasolini was forever picking apart the discrepancies not only in society - including religion and politics (as seen in Accattone and Hawks and the Sparrows) - but in himself. Here we peruse the “tough” Jesus, who “comes not to bring peace,” smites a fig tree, violently hurls moneychangers out of the Temple, and warns people that they are either “with me or against me.” But we also explore the Jesus of adore and compassion, who heals the sick, treats children with affection, and performs miracles (most are breathtaking, reproduced with the simplest means, as when he walks on water) .

The only aspect of this handsome film which does not work for me is the self-consciously eclectic (and Oscar-nominated!) consume of music, which extends from Bach to Prokofiev to folk music. Pasolini wants this polyglot pick up to develop subtle, and shifting, tensions between the world of veteran Judea and our maintain, but its incongruity and repetitiveness are sometimes distracting. The only soundtrack here is the English-dubbed version. The fresh Italian-language soundtrack is not available, and the sound mix is seriously compromised whenever the dubbing is inserted. Ironically, this budget version boasts a slightly better transfer than the thirty-dollar deluxe edition. But even so, the relate is barely watchable, and even shows a few lines here and there that earn the film gape as if it had been copied off an primitive VCR.

Despite the fact that this DVD is seven minutes shorter than the film’s official running time, it doesn’t seem to lack any footage. But the film does race at a faster rush than it ought, which throws the editing off kilter and makes the dubbing feel a tiny rushed. There are no extras, of course.

After being shown various places where they held auditions, Philippines finally
lit up the mask with “jeepneys and tricycles”, my hope country,
and I unbiased cant enjoy that something astonishing has happenned here. Then there came
Monique Wilson and Lea Salonga, their showdown isn’t as sharp as I expected. But it’s
perfect when Lea first appeared in the hide where she asked Schonberg’s autograph, and
then he (Schonberg) sang Sun and Moon for Lea to learn, and then the most splendid thing
happenned, the very first rendition of Lea Salonga of “Sun and Moon”, she sang it
BEAUTIFULLY!!!

But the thing that I am most disappointed is they didn’t demonstrate their announcement that
Lea got the fragment, it would be very nice to observe that moment. They unprejudiced showed a writing
in the mask that Lea was offered the role of Kim after 3 days of rehearsals. Lea also
sang I’d Give My Life for you, Movie in My mind, and Too Noteworthy for one heart (didn’t beget it
to the final cleave though) in her audition scenes.

What has been shown next are the reheasal footages which are truly a delight to observe.
Lea Salonga reheasing the “This money’s Yours” song, “This is the hour” of the cast,
choreography of some of the song numbers.

Then the very first public preview came, they only showed the first piece of “Sun and Moon”
which in my understanding is the most stunning version I have ever heard, better than the
cast recording. Then the sincere premiere came and it’s nice to notice when Cameron
Mackintosh hugged Lea to say good-luck. They showed the Americanm Dream. Sadly they didn’t
show too worthy of the “Topple of Saigon” with the now famed helicopter scene.

The display received a rapturous applause in its final bow and sadly only Bowman, Salonga, and
Pryce were shown bowing, but one of the best parts of the video followed, we are given the
view inside the curtain, so the moment the curtain fell, we can notice
the whole cast jumping and celebrating and shouting about their very first performance.

I recommend this to all Lea Salonga and Miss Saigon fans, I am quite determined that you’ll
enjoy this video, but other than those I stated I deem you won’t be getting the
same impact than those who are Lea and Miss Saigon fans.

I have quite a few comments after having watched this video at least 10 times (I’ve had it for years now) . I assume it is attractive to contemplate bits and pieces of what contributes to making the “Miss Saigon” production. It’s sharp watching the cast command with the orchestra for the first time. Also, watching Lea Salonga nervously jabber through Sun and Moon never fails to give me chills. What a sweet order! However, the video showed too many auditions, and I am disappointed the video did not explain the auditions for Simon Bowman, Jonathan Pryce, and Claire Moore. This definitely does NOT subsitute for watching “Miss Saigon” on stage. But it is a “documentary” video that is must have for Lea Salonga fans/”Miss Saigon” fans.

Adult-themed movies are rarely made these days in America, the country which, ironically, is the porn capital of the world. The MPAA’s rating system is confusing and often contradictory. No studio wants the dreaded `NC-17′ rating because, among other reasons, many newspapers and TV stations won’t carry ads for movies so rated. To me, it’s a dismal, hypocritical space. Fortunately, other countries do create movies for adults. “Y Tu Mama Tambien” is from Mexico, and, while its graphic depiction of sexual situations may seem startling to American audiences, it is far more unprejudiced, compelling and shining than its haunted, childish American counterparts. ["American Pie" is a perfect example.]

Two teenagers, Julio and Tenoch [Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna] are looking forward to the pleasures of summer. They’ve unprejudiced graduated from high school, and their girlfriends are going off to Italy for an extended halt. After biding the girls a fond farewell, the boys space out to have as powerful fun as they can. At a love party, they meet Luisa [Maribel Verdu], the wife of Tenoch’s cousin. The pair is smitten by the older woman. Impulsively, they invited her to remove a road prance with them to a beach they know called Heaven’s Mouth. She politely refuses. Later, when she catches her husband being unfaithful, she announces that she is ready to search for the beach. [Her sincere reason for going is not revealed until the film's final scene.] The dilemma is that the guys made the beach up. Despite this technical dilemma, the trio sets out for the long drive to the ocean. At the raze of the bolt, they derive a astonishing surprise. Along the contrivance, Luisa teaches both young men how to treat a woman. They also learn other, more serious lessons about life.

On the surface, this is a comedic `road trip’ movie, one of the best ever made. Beneath the surface, there lies a poignant, meaningful coming of age narrative.
